Optimizing Pulp and Paper

We assisted a Kraft pulp mill with thermo-mechanical pulping producing newsprint to achieve over $2 million in energy costs savings utilizing 100% in government funding to complete the project.

Engineers conducted an in-depth analysis of historical records, operations on site, and existing equipment and conducted a site visit where they carefully examined the facility’s equipment and operations. In addition, they interviewed operations and maintenance personnel for further insights. Following this, these engineers utilized existing process data and thoroughly reviewed historical records pertaining to site operations and equipment to establish the facility’s baseline energy profile.

This data was utilized to validate energy conservation measures (ECMs) and estimate implementation costs. Savings are estimated to provide $2.5M of energy cost savings with an average simple payback of less than 5 years.

They caught our attention because they presented themselves to be knowledgeable in the subject areas and have experience in relevant fields.
